Meon Valley is a new constituency which will elect its first member of Parliament at the next General Election. Meon Valley constituency is formed from a number of electoral wards from East Hampshire, Havant and Winchester districts.

  • From East Hampshire, Clanfield and Finchdean, Horndean Catherington and Lovedean, Horndean Downs, Horndean Hazleton and Blendworth, Horndean Kings, Horndean Murray and Rowlands Castle

  • From Havant, Cowplain, Hart Plain and Waterloo

  • From Winchester, Bishops Waltham, Boarhunt and Southwick, Cheriton and Bishops Sutton, Denmead, Droxford, Soberton and Hambledon, Owslebury and Curdridge, Shedfield, Swanmore and Newtown, Upper Meon Valley, Whiteley and Wickham

Based on the results of previous elections, the new Meon Valley seat is seen as likely to be highly marginal between the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats, with the Liberal Democrats projected as being just under 2,000 votes behind.

Conservative: 21652 (45.1%)

Liberal Democrat: 19662 (40.9%)

Labour: 5167 (10.8%)

Other: 1554 (3.2%)
